I've been with Vodafone for a few yrs now and find the coverage very good.
Not the cheapest, but not much more than the others. Good customer service
too!

Plus, as they are fairly global, cheaper calls abroad if you use the
'Passport' facility (although not so much of an issue now the EU has put the
boot in!).
