Hello All,

Myself and Rachel Carney are delighted to have been invited to put
together a new series of Dorkbot meetings in Bristol for the forthcoming
months and we're pleased to announce the start of this with the next
meeting of the 27th May, starting at 7pm.

Do hope to see you there.

Mike.

--//-- R3-b00t, R3-LAUNCH --//--

Whether you are an artist, filmmaker, scientist, programmer, or you're
just interested in doing strange things with electricity...

You are invited to the re-launch of Dorkbot Bristol

On 27th May 2008 at the Pervasive Media Lab (behind the Watershed)
staring at 7pm until 10pm.

This months Dorkbot, 'Musicalia: had Rakhmaninov been a computer
programmer?', is a focus on music technology with a line up of musical
extravaganza.

Dorkbot aims to be informal and friendly and the night looks to offer a
hands-on approach with the opportunity to play interesting instruments
and taking a performance or two.

* Come find out more about the Theremin, with Alexander Thomas with a
performance, the body capacitance as a music control and talk about 60's
instrument technology.

* Ray Brooks will be taking a look at open source music software and
giving an insight into how he creates tunes and the potential of Pure Data.

* The Astronaut Show, Rachel Carney & Co, will demonstrate the exciting
128 Monome, cult indie controller that's takes home grown technology to
new heights.

....and much more including drinks!

The night will continue on after 10 at Las Iguanas, situated across from
the Pervasive media lab for those who don't want to go home early!

So if you haven't yet been to the Pervasive Media Lab, Dorkbot is a
great opportunity, to see the new home for Dorkbot and some other
exciting projects coming from Bristol and surrounding areas.

STOP PRESS: We are looking for contributors and the theme's for
forthcoming Dorkbot's and look forward to hearing from anyone who is
interested in getting involved.
