We tried a wiki for exactly this last year and found the entire concept
wanting - 'knowledge' doesn't tend to fit nicely into an article based
storage and dissemination method, especially when you are constructing
larger procedures out of smaller knowledge fragments.

It really requires a fundamentally different way of handling, linking and
cross referencing knowledge fragments, but I have yet to find a decent off
the shelf way of handling it.

Oh well.
