My PowerMac G5 (dual 2.5GHz) uses about 50W more power if you put CPU
on "automatic" than on "reduced" ("high" is yet another 50W or so).
Which if left on all the time would be a few quid a month in its own
right.
The most surprising were amplifiers: common sense I suppose, but I
didn't realise a 100W amp left on with no sound going through it
uses, err, 100W. Taught me to switch the hifi off.
Anyway, I'm turning into the "boring person who doesn't shut up about
power usage"...
