Clearly it (ie not driving) doesn't work for everyone, but there are
loads of people who could use other means than the car but who don't.

If food and oil prices continue their upward trend, I expect we'll see
more local food production and people choosing to work closer to where
they live or vice versa, out of *necessity* rather than some
tree-hugging hippy idealism.
