That's interesting. Did you see the thing about Manchester getting the
green light to be the first city outside London to have a congestion
charging scheme?

Manchester, unlike Bristol:

* is (largely) flat, making cycling easier
* has an extensive rail and tram network
* has genuine competition in bus services, with services actually
affordable (50p for a single journey)

Despite all that, people still drive; it's a hard habit to break.
