this account IS true, because it happened to my sister-in-law and her 
boyfriend and we had to drive them to a&e saturday night. i also know 
the person who was badly beaten friday night, he was just on the phone 
about it

according to the police, there are currently two gangs of youths, one 
somali, one jamaican, who had been mugging other kids up till now, but 
this shows an escalation of violence towards adults. they were more 
interested in the violence than taking the bikes [which they did anyway] 
and is a serious matter [the staples on matt's head demonstrate that to 
me] - it could've been a stabbing and a death. police asked us to 
describe the two gangs on the easton community yahoo group

my initial response was one of revenge, going out there vigilante stylee 
and kicking arse, but really, i want to be able to use the cycle path at 
whatever time of the day, so perhaps a few more lights might help? it 
happened at a particularly dark patch near the easton communty centre

we just need to be more vigilant at night until these hooligans are caught
