I guess I was particularly unlucky then. It's the only time I've been  
there after dark. You're right that of course it's not restricted to  
there, but then I'd avoid plenty of places after dark that are poorly- 
lit and have few people around and are in a slightly dodgy area. Being  
on a bike is a lot better, but on a narrow path it's a lot harder to  
get away. Not so much of a problem when it's winter and 6pm and more  
people are about.
