Having held a class one PCV licence for 19 years and being an ex coach
driver myself, I have to say the bus driving I have seen in Bristol is some
of the worst I have ever seen.
Its amazing there aren't more accidents.

Two years ago I had a First Bus single decker bus use my 4x4 for brakes at a
roundabout on the A4 - and ended up being out of action with whiplash and a
trapped nerve in my neck for almost a year on and off. 

First Bus's claims handling service is also a joke - they sent me some noddy
mobile Corsa thing to drive in (to replace my Shogun Sport they stoved in) -
the car had little suspension (nice for a neck injury I thought) and
wouldn't pull your grandmother out of bed! I am surprised it didn't come
with a complimentary hat with a bell on!

How the expected me to drive a car the size of a teaspoon across my fields
laden with food and stuff for my 4 horses I don't know. Eventually got a
nice Mercedes ML out of them for hire, when I got their shed stuck in the
field though! :)

I was stood at a bus stop at the bottom of Xmas steps once, standing
on the kerb but facing away from traffic. As a bus pulls in, it
mounted the kerb, hit me square in the back and sent me flying - I
didnt even see/hear it coming. It was only doing 5 mph prob so no
lasting damage. The bus driver said he hadn't seen me and anyway it
was my fault for standing near the edge of the kerb.

This was comfortably the closest I've ever been to hitting a complete
stranger.

Buses and people tend not to mix.
