[_] Apache vs IIS

Hi guys,
Sorry don't post often but an avid reader!

We've got a couple of dedicated servers running Windows, IIS, PHP and MySQL.
They've been up for a year or so and I'm really not impressed with the
amount of TLC I have to give Windows and IIS?

Has anyone got any particular thoughts on swapping IIS for Apache.
I've done it locally on quite a few machines and found the
response/speed times better than IIS.

Thing is we've got a nice control panel (HELM) running each server,
which is mighty handy. I'm happy configuring Apache through the text
files but are there any equally nice control panels to handle domains,
sub-domains, mail, ftp etc for Windows and Apache?

To be able to use mod_rewrite and .htaccess for me is a reason to
change alone!!!

Thanks,
Chris

PS We need Windows, there are a couple of specific apps we run outside
of the web stuff that are only available on that platform!
