these Yahoo "brands" are. There's a slim chance - slim, mind you -
that MS, having taken ownership, will largely leave things the fuck
alone so that Flickr, del, Upcoming etc continue to appeal to the
users that have made them so great in the first place.

And no, I'm not usually so optimistic, especially when it comes to
Microsoft. But put yourself in their shoes: they'd be *insane* to make
any significant changes to something like Flickr, because they know
that doing so would prompt a massive exodus of users.

Heh, it's funny: del.icio.us still hasn't launched the new UI they've
been working on since they got bought by Yahoo!. I wonder if it will
ever see the light of day at all, or if they'll just give up and start
on the MS Live Favorites (sic) now.
