Infrastructure Support Engineer - Windows Server 2000/2003, Linux,
Apache, PHP, MYSQL, Cisco, streaming technologies.

Required for an exciting Bristol based company working in the online
video and advertising space.

The role involves maintaining an existing high-availability network,
delivering content for global brands and implementing a new global
high-availability infrastructure. As well as providing support to the
company's internal systems. You must be able to demonstrate proven
skills in Unix/Linux and Windows system administration.

Daily responsibilities will include everything technical.
Core technologies:
Linux (RedHat) EL5
Windows Server 2000/2003
Apache
lighttpd
PHP
MYSQL
Cisco
Normal internal network systems (Exchange, Veritas, AD, etc)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter to join a fast
growing and dynamic operation. The main requirement here is for someone
who wants to learn, take on responsibility for tasks and see them
through to successful delivery. We are looking for someone that does not
mind hard work.

The role will involve travelling to our data centre in London on a
frequent basis (sometimes in the middle of the night). There may be
international travel as well for builds in other data centres.

You must be a competent network engineer, comfortable managing network
switching equipment (Cisco, load balancers, firewalls) and a competent
Systems. Administrator on both Windows and Linux platforms.

The current infrastructure consists on +50 production Servers running on
a Tier 1 backbone.

You will be part of a small infrastructure team (you and me) and will be
expected to work "with initiative" from the start.

Currently managing the infrastructure is a full time+ job and the
successful candidate will be expected to lighten that load without too
much overhead being spent on explaining the nuts and bolts. If you are
not a person that takes a problem away, troubleshoots it (learns it) and
comes back with an answer or fix, then this role is not for you.
Although we are not adverse to taking on someone
looking to diversify from a purely Support role, as long as they are
willing to put in a lot of hard work.

Salary - TBD in interview
