We* get loads of traffic from StumbleUpon (it seems to have more
mainstream appeal than del.icio.us et al) but we don't have
StumbleUpon as one of the "share this page on..." links.

We put the links there because the BBC have them. If someone's an
existing user of these services, they're likely to have a bookmarklet
or browser extension. If they're not, then the presence of these links
is, I reckon, unlikely to turn them into a user of said services and
could be construed as yet more clutter on the screen.
