Tim, Yeah he's totally right, screen resolution doesn't mean they are viewing the site fully maximised. I don't believe the res stats are pointless though. I also didn't think the examples were particularly sensible. I doubt the Google team had layout issues putting a textbox on a page! I also have no idea where layout will go from here, what with bigger and smaller resolutions becoming so popular as well. To be honest I'm sure we could discuss this for hours so I suggest we do it in person at the next Skill swap or something. Otherwise I will just waste my day thinking about every different opinion and get nothing done! Peace and Hair grease... -----Original Message----- From: Tim Beadle [mailto:tim.beadle at gmail.com] Sent: 01 April 2008 12:30 To: underscore at under-score.org.uk Subject: Re: [_] BBC News Page On Tue, Apr 1, 2008 at 11:44 AM, Jon Free <jon at tangymedia.co.uk> wrote: > Go on then? OK. Screen resolution is a red herring. As monitors get bigger people are more likely (even on Windows) to run browser windows non-maximised, making a poll of screen resolutions meaningless.
