Interesting article, It seems to imply that Ads are almost completelty ignored, although this can't be the case or google would go bust :o) Would be interesting to see what the sample size was. I came across something in a similiar vein (heat maps and user activity): http://blogtrench.blogspot.com/2007/08/hidden-f-in-your-web-pages.html Which I also found quite interesting and has the add advantage of providing an excuse to talk about the 'F in web pages' . . . . (You'll have to read the article). rapier sharp wit and its only monday. . . . <sigh> mark On 9/3/07, Andy Davies <dajdavies at gmail.com> wrote: > > On 03/09/07, Keir Moffatt <hello at iamkeir.com> wrote: > > > > Thanks for that Tim, was a useful read. > > > > It's the kind of article to share with those clients that seem hell-bent > > on > > ad-ravaging their websites. > > > > Keir > > > > On 03/09/07, Tim Beadle <tim.beadle at gmail.com> wrote: > > > > > > "I've been reluctant to discuss one of the findings from our > > > eyetracking research because the conclusion is that unethical design > > > pays off." > > > -- Jakob Nielsen, http://www.useit.com/alertbox/banner-blindness.html > > > > > > > It seems to suggest that text based ads work though (which I suspect you > could read from the take up of Google ads) > > > Andy > -- > underscore_ list info/archive -> http://www.under-score.org.uk > -- Mark Chitty web: www.thisliquidspace.com email: mark.chitty at thisliquidspace.com mobile: 0777 3392821 skype: markchitty
