I think getting tangled up with Plesk configuration is my current problem - admittedly probably of my own making, as I had made some changes to things directly which confused Plesk. I posted on here a few weeks ago about randomly stopping sites within IIS, and after examining the logs within event viewer it looks like one of the plesk sevices is causing this. as it seems to be getting confused. I don't need plesk, and although initially I found it convenient to set up sites etc via plesk i'd rather administer things directly via remote desktop. I'm convinced that if I disable the plesk services, bad things might happen? The primary domain on this server isn't crucial, but I have had problems because webfusion had no record of registering it for me and after ignored emails and wasted time on phone support i'm having to deal with nominet directly to make some changes to the whois record to set up an SSL certificate, and i'll have to do the same if I move it i. googling around earlier I found http://www.interhost.co.uk - anyone got any horror stories (about interhost rather than just general horror stories ;-) ? -- Rick Hurst, Web developer, Bristol, England http://www.rickhurst.co.uk
