Just wondering if anyone has come across/has opinions on alternatives to 
  BaseCamp. I kind of get along with it, but it frustrates me at times 
(e.g. it would be great to have the agreed spec, wireframes, etc. as 
easy links on a page rather than buried in the messages or files list; 
I'd like to have some way of tagging/categorising more than just the 
messages; basically do something other than see everything in date 
order; it would be good if the client could have the nitty-gritty of 
production issues hidden by default but still could access it if they 
wanted; can't add people to a notification list if they weren't there at 
the start; etc.).

I've had a look at ActiveCollab but that seems overly busy & it looks 
like it wouldn't solve my issues. I'm looking more for project 
communication than project management. Maybe just configuring a CMS & 
creating some helpful modules is what I need.
