Quite. My job title is "developer", yet I do CSS, XHTML and
data-driven content (with JSP, via an API that a colleague wrote).
He's the backend developer, I'm frontend. I'm still a developer. Oh, I
do JavaScript too, and write the occasional data-munge in Perl.

The fact that I'm a "developer" and he's a "developer" yet we do
vastly different stuff is more due to the size of the organisation not
supporting the existence of specialists, even though we each have our
specialisms.
