I'd second that - I've given up using Skype to talk to clients, for the same
reasons as John, apart from conference calls where it is dead easy to use
and no one expects a conference call to go without a hitch anyway. It is
really useful for talking amongst project teams when we're all working from
different locations. But we use the messaging tool more than the phone line.

The video conferencing feature has also worked well for me in the past. When
you can't get to a meeting, and you're patched into a meeting room - you
normally get the spot at the top of the table with the camera pointing down
the table so generally you get a good view of everyone's arms, apart from
the person at the far end - who's too small to see, but somehow it makes you
feel like you're in the room more closely, but having that distance gives
you the state of mind to cut through the bullshit a little more quickly,
than you might do bogged down in the room with everyone else.

Cheers,
Anthony
