One thing I noticed is if I play a standard def DVD, upscaled, through my PS3 to my HD TV, I find it looks startlingly better than a via normal DVD player through SCART - not sure how much of this is to do with upscaling Vs HDMI rather than SCART, but it look so good it certainly puts me off spending a wedge load of cash on any Blu-Ray discs to get a very marginally better image quality...
