To me, that statement could be construed negatively under the following
circumstances:

A: "Did you hear that Small Company X aren't supporting Bristol Day?"
B: "Really?  Must be in the sh*t then."

Asinine as that is, it's just something that instantly popped into my head
when I read that passage.

I'm certainly not against the proposal, just a little concerned that the
above circumstance might tar reputations needlessly.  Good luck with the
campaign.
