There's a reason most users switch off dock magnification: it's only
good for showing off what Aqua can do in the shop. It's horrible for
day-to-day use.

What non-Mac-users seem to think is that OS X is all about the "eye
candy" and that, by adding similar effects to other OSs, they'll
suddenly be as good as OS X in the usability department. Exercises in
missing the point, lesson 1.
