It is true! Unix generally treats you better if you've got a beard as
it reminds it of its makers, so Unix lets you have a little more
control just in case you rewrite it in anger.

Sandals:

It prefers you better with sandals as it knows that if you have the
really geeky strappy ones then it helps with deep vein thrombosis and
it's only trying to save you trouble in the long run.

Virii:
------
But, Unix still hasn't managed to stop us users succumbing over the
years to the coffee/snack-machine virii that have invaded our world,
but all those hours of battling intently with sed were just it trying
to take your mind of your own real life problems for a while. Unix is
that considerate, it's amazing what newbies think of it, so often
misunderstood.

Mounting:

(The 15yo in me needs to mention that it'll let you mount foreign
filesystems, too, even if they are dirty - and it's a good point in
some other more serious conversation!)
