It's not just your login that gets proliferated; your network of
friends does too, which is why there's a lot of calls for Portable
Social Networks, using FOAF or XFN to quickly migrate your gang from
one site to another.

Oh, and OpenID is really, really great. I use my Vox account, and the
recent Open Bar feature on Basecamp and Highrise means that you log in
to one, you log into all (I have a work and a personal Basecamp
account and a Highrise account). It's single sign-on without
reinventing the wheel - marvellous :)
