hi, my dad has a large number of hi-res photos on his laptop from his dSLR. the laptop only has a 20gb HD and he's always running out of space (even though i bought him an 80gb external drive. he hasn't got his head around backups and moving stuff between drives...) he uses iPhoto to organise his photos and i'm wondering, if i back up all his original photos is it possible to then batch downsample the whole iPhoto library to free up some disk space. (this would also make iPhoto run a lot quicker!). it would mean he can keep all his lower res copies in iPhoto 'just for looking at' but if he ever needs the original hi-res images, they'll be on the external HD. any other suggestions? (i might persuade him to turn down the resolution on the camera too! how often do people ACTUALLY need 4000x3000 pixel images?) chris -- ----------------------------- chris dawson :: tallhatDesign creative consultancy :: web design :: flash animation http://www.tallhat.com phone: 01225 445505 mobile: 07719 918251 iChat: tallhat_uk --------------------------------
