Yet again, Sony work out new ways to obliterate any chance of their  
technically-superior format succeeding.

Sony proprietary formats tend to be technically better than the  
alternative, but they screw it up in other ways... usually by  
overpricing.  This time Blu-Ray is only marginally superior to HD- 
DVD, and they found an even dumber way to cock it up:

Porn has been pivotal in the take up of so many new formats and  
media, but the real point is that Sony are flexing their muscles in a  
scary way:  they're telling the world that they control content, and  
no-one wants to hear that.
