I'm not sure the 'facts' support the argument though...

Tax on my 1.8 litre Mondeo is something like £190/year, so the so called 4x4
gas guzzlers pay £25 a year more in road tax, hardly an incentive to change
to a smaller car. The daily depreciation is probably more than £25 on a 4x4.
