Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I was slightly concerned that the W850i was a somewhat unorthodox and
gimmicky phone, which it seems that it might well be.  I neglected to
mention that Mac connectivity isn't an issue for me either, but having taken
a look at the K800i now I think I'm convinced to take that instead anyway...
that's assuming no-one comes out of the woodwork to give that model a good
rubbishing.
