what color is the middle light flashing, is it amber?
I've had trouble with mine in the past but there are a couple of ways
to solve it, last time was when I moved or telewest moved some of the
setting on the connection which mean I couldn't get a good connection
it was solved with by

1. Unplugging the Ethernet from the main router
2. pulling the plug from the route until all the lights are out
3. plugging the router back in until all the lights are back on
4. plug the router back into the airport express
5. restart your mac / pc

If the problem is more complex a factory reset can be achieved by
holding down the reset button with a pin or end of a pencil / pen,
until you get the feedback of three flashing green lights.
