> It's a speaker with wifi? Aside from the lights and motorised ears the new ones have RFID and voice recognition as well. > We could do better than that. I've heard that from a few people and places, No-one has actually done anything though. > And make it open > standards. All you need is a little motherboard out of one of those > external HDD units and a Furbie and you're away. Well, there are photosets here http://www.flickr.com/photos/natatwo/sets/72057594071598078/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/lauriej/ I'm pretty sure there are some technical details around somewhere as well, but I don't have them to hand. > Hell, I might even try > that. You could make it a million times smarter and more useful. I imagine that aside from the practical problems of manufacture, the difficulty is hitting a competitive price point. As far as I understand it, Violet make most of their money by selling 'pro' accounts which let your rabbit receive custom information rather than just their pre-set services. This is why there's interest in setting up proxies so that you can take control of it yourself (I think there are some in .NET, Java and C++ at the mo). Remember to let us know when you've got something, there's no real competitor for the nabaztag, so something for the MAKE crowd would go down a storm. Cheers, Phil p.s. You might want to fix your Apache config, http://conscious.co.uk/ is a 404, I guess you want to redirect to http://www.conscious.co.uk/
