Hi Mac,

All is not lost. The same thing happened to me except rather than power 
surge, read 'wife'.

You can either get them re-coned or better still, treat the boxes to 
some brand new replacement B&W
units from these excellent guys and get Pete to fit them himself - it's 
dead easy.
