I've been asked to produce a pretty sophisticated intranet system for one
our clients. We've built more basic ones bespoke before for our clients so
that the features are tailored perfectly for them but on this occasion I
think building the functionality they require as a bespoke system would end
up costly.

 

Any one had any good experience with third party intranet 'app', framework
or component that they could recommend?

 

Client is wanting features including:

-          Contact system

-          Telephone book

-          Staff handbook (series of pages)

-          Forms sections (categorised form for download)

-          Research section (categorised pdf's)

-          Social events/events calendar

-          Classifieds system (items for sale etc)

-          Chat board/forum

-          And of course all of the usual permissions requirements

 

Any recommendation would be gratefully received.
