A while ago in the BBC we looked at using a screensaver as a way of sharing
unused CPU power across the internet; which got hijacked and renamed GRID
computing.

has anyone had experience of this or any thoughts as to its potential these
days.
i know its been tried before but wasn't sure if today's dynamic CPUs go into
idle/shutdown in a different way.
also more people being green may mean people turn off their computers more
often than previously.

all thoughts / pointers appreciated
thanks
miles
