Hi all, First off, just thought I would introduce myself to _ - my name is Keir and I've been working/freelancing as a web designer/developer for just over 6 years. I'm currently based in Bristol and I've crossed paths with a few of the folks on _ so hopefully not a complete stranger! However, please by all means find out more about me on my website: http://www.iamkeir.com Anyway, to the point - I've recently been testing some web pages using some screen reader software (mainly Jaws) and, as always, the experience has been quite enlightening - in particular it has made me, once again, re-evaluate my approach to providing a high standard of web accessibility. I'm emailing _ to see if anyone living in or near Bristol has, or knows anyone who has, a disability that effects the way they use the web and would be willing to take part in an open discussion on the techniques and guidelines currently used to improve accessibility on the web. This invite extends to people with specialist expertise in web accessibility and/or a keen desire to improve the way they are coding for such. My intention would be to arrange a meet-up at some point (unless there is already one?) for this open discussion, coupled with discussion/feedback via _. Please let me know your thoughts. Cheers, Keir -- http://www.iamkeir.com
