CDJs have been able to do it for years of course but his is an extension of that tech that apparently does more music analysis of the whole track to see where to start the mix etc so the mixes are smoother etc. It also does eq based mixes which mean the mixes are smoother. More of a slicker use of existing tech than anything new. And yeah.. Has to be simple 4/4 music with a strong beat or it'll flail around like nobodies business... FFT beat detectors are available for loads of platforms, I'm using one for Processing (http://processing.org) for doing live sound reactive visuals.
