Subject: [_] [OT]Extracting regular payments

Afternoon!

We've got a number of clients who pay a regular amount on a monthly (or
annual) basis but there are one or two who will avoid paying on the basis of
paperwork. I've spoken with the big chief and he has suggested setting up a
direct debit which would make sense but having spoken with my bank I've been
told that we're "not large enough" and I should request the client sets up a
standing order instead which, other than a lot more work for my clients
(making it less likely to happen) seems somewhat noddyish.

How do others here take regular monthly payments from their clients? I'm
thinking about setting up a merchant account and using someone like Protx to
process the payments but the additional cost involves just puts me off.

TIA

Tim

p.s. Yes I did use "extracting" on purpose as it's as painful as trying to
extract teeth from what I've found so far.

p.p.s. The "baseball bat" method does work well but it's a fair distance to
travel to some of my clients so unpractical on a monthly basis.
