Just to add to the tale I've just returned from western computer and
they refused to give me a refund contrary to what they offered me on
the telephone a couple of hours ago. Then to add insult to injury they
told me I must of damaged it myself as someone did the same thing a
couple of months ago, in reaction to this I felt the need to vault the
counter and jump up and down on the manager but rationality and belief
in a non violent way of life prevented me from doing so.
But I spoke to trading standards and they informed me that their not
playing by the rules and I'm entitled to a full refund no questions
asked, just to be uber victor meldrew for a second longer it the sale
of goods act 1979 that should protect me. It seems odd to me that they
would be so unhelpful as they should know more than most that people
who buy mac's, are more than likely to keep buying them due to the
strange cult like hold they have on people, and being nice will only
benefit them in return sales and praise.
