[_] (OT) Faulty product does it have to go back to the manufacture first?

Did you buy it online?

If so and you've had it less than 6 months then the distance selling
rules (OR DTI Guidelines not sure) state anything that breaks within
6 months is assumed to have been shipped as faulty and should be
replaced by the retailer at no expense to you...

However when I tried this it took 3 months and a third party to get
it sorted...

Online electrical shops are wankers when it comes to returns. If
there's one out there that isn't I'd love to know. (amazon.co.uk
excepted... Never had an issue with them)
