I would have thought it would depend on the target audience - if a
relatively large proportion of the audience are Mac based, then a small
proportion of those will be using Mac IE - given that the Mac audience on
the internet is about 3.5-4%, and that Safari sits at about 3.1%, it's fair
to assume that Mac IE usage is well below 1% (the rest all using Firefox,
Opera and Camino). That combined with the horrendous hacks it can require
to force sites to work often mean it is not particularly viable to support
it.

But of course, if you are creating a site for a specialist, Mac orientated
audience, that <1% may equate to a larger proportion of visitors.
