I use protx, but I use either their VSP Server and VSP Direct
solutions, both of which use cURL to send the parameters to ProtTx's
servers, the later never actually leaving your sever, instead you take
the CC details and pass via SSL cURL to protx, and then deal with the
response.

as you're using php, I'd get a dedicated IP and use ProTx's VSP Server solution.
