Vista - what is the point? (was Re: [_] Run for your lives!)

So is it RAM or CPU that it needs?

My workstation is an IBM Thinkpad with a docking station that holds a
second video card so I can run some effing big flat panels from it.
It's got 2Gb of RAM but 'only' a 2GHz Pentium M, no dual core becuase
that model came out 30 seconds after I bought this one.

I'm guessing it won't pass the Richard Davey Vista benchmarks?
