Hey guys n gurls,
Thank you for all your input, it's been really useful. I've since found out
we actually have the opt in for all the recruiters on the website
(apparently it's part of the T&Cs), but from what's been discussed here I'm
definitely going to add big f*ck off unsubscribe links to the bottom (and
top?). And be super careful with amount and relevance of the email.
I'm also only going to send out stuff I feel is really necessary (such as
this course coming up on recruitment copywriting..) and legal changes.
To date, I've only sent one out in the last year (that was about the Age
stuff I mentioned here earlier) and that's in the last 12 months. I'm about
to send my second out, so hopefully that's not too intrusive.
Then, as fast as our little developer legs can carry us I'm going to develop
a page for all recruiters allowing them to opt in and out of different types
of mailing, so they might want to receive legal changes in recruitment law,
but not information on courses, or parties etc. Hopefully that will be done
before any other relevant info needs to go out.
Thanks again, dead useful. It's such a hard one to call - as a joe-bloggs
myself registering on sites and getting spammed, I hate it. But registering
and getting useful email I like. I suppose it all comes down to the
content, relevance and amount.
