The disclaimers do rather choke up the digest, I agree.
The request delete bit is practical protection against breach of confidence.
Anyone emailing sensitive stuff eg price might take the same precaution. The
rest of the legalese is largely around restriction of implied professional
duties, and ours isn't the longest in the profession either...There is
debate over whether it's all needed but the theory is that an email can go
astray or be intercepted (whether or not correctly addressed) in a way that
letters, phone or fax cannot.
