So, what I'm after is a camcorder, preferably 3-CCD,
which:

a. has a hard disk, or some other method of recording
full-size DV 
movies
for at least 2-3 hours, and
b. has a firewire output so that we can stream live
from it.
(and c, can operate in relatively low light
conditions)

i wonder if a full size dv model would suit you? (one
that takes full size, longer, dv tapes,)... haven't
checked the digital out situation... maybe the beeb or
someone would lend/hire you one on an event by event
basis if you asked 'em nicely? (or sell you one of
their cast offs)
