[_] 6 pin BT phone plug

Hi,

we've been going around in circles with BT over a (seemingly) simple
hardware requirement so I thought I'd throw it open to the collective
to see if anyone else can help.

We have recently had installed a new BT product called BT Micro - new
enough that most BT drones have not heard of it. It's ADSL
router/access point/PABX/digtal cordless phone/VOIP thingy in a single
box and actually works quite well.

However the corded phone that comes with it (a BT V8 feature phone)
the wire is not long enough to go from the magic box in the data
cabinet to my desk. If one plugs in a normal extension cable it
doesn't work. Upon quick examination it is obvious that the phone plug
uses all six pins but that a normal extension cable uses 4 (the
outside 2 being empty on every single phone plug that we've looked
at).

SO, cue lots of calls to lots of departments within BT asking for what
seems to be a simple thing, an extension wire with all 6 pins being
used. Nope, can't find one.

I've just noticed that the phone has a power input so the newest angle
is to (maybe, if it's possible) plug power in and use a normal
extension but *obviously* there is no voltage or current rating, it
didn't come with said adapter and we've now started the same dance
again with BT support 'Help 'desks to try and get a power pack.

Anyone used this phone and/or service and had similar issues?

It goes without saying that BT are a bunch of ......
