I've made CD-Rom presentations both apps, and I would tend towards
Director, for its greater control of assets. But as Stefan pointed
out: it may not be worth learning a new app for it.
In this case it's all based on the Video. Make sure you test the
video section of the application (on CD, not just local) before
choosing. If Flash handles it then go for Flash.
There's loads of support for making Flash Stand alone apps on the
internet. But if you can't find stuff email me and I'll fish them
out (once my bloody internet stops acting up... any other Uk online
people having trouble? hence the late email)
PC autostart's nothing to worry about, normal setup. For mac just
automatically open a window with lovely background, nice icon and a
message such as 'please click here to open'. This mac stuff can be
done a long way round by hand (involves locking image files, logging
in and back out etc.), or very quickly using little free apps such as
AutoOpen. All this is done during the burn process.
