Our Verisign cert just ran out at £650 I decided to try out a GoDaddy
cert for a subdomain.
Works a treat, no problems with browsers. So at $19.99 per year (£10)
you can't go wrong.
We went and bought a wildcard cert now so all our subdomains can be
secured without resorting to self signed certs and having users have to
click on the popups.
Only one thing. They use WHOIS to check you have the rights to the
domain and send an email to the admin email listed. CO.UK don't have any
emails listed so you need to contact GoDaddy, send them a fax on headed
paper requesting where they send the confirmation email.
As mentioned a £650, £10 or self signed cert (£0) all encrypt your data,
and do users take any notice?
