Our nearly 3yo Canon Powershot A70 has started to play up (loose
connection inside somewhere; you sometimes have to squeeze the case to
make it take and display non-blank or non-horizontal-line-strewn
piccies).

I bought that one on the recommendation of PC Pro's A-List. Their
current top-rated compact digicam is the Canon Ixus 65. I notice the
Ixus 60 is somewhat cheaper on eBuyer.com (£150 as against £180 for
the 65) as it's last year's model.

I like Canon. I like the idea of seriously compact (the A70 is a
little lardy). Anyone got any other suggestions?
