On a hacking tangent:
Since moving I no longer have Sky+ (which rocked) so to make myself
feel better about my loss of tech I got myself a Topfield dual tuner
PVR. The manufacturers have released the API and through using some
simple client software on a 'puter attached to it by USB you can hack
away.
Obviously there's a geeky/hacky site for it: http://www.toppy.org.uk/
Particularly good for recording something then just pulling the .avi
file off for longer term storage, burning to DVD etc.
