I have airport express, hooked up to my Rotel/Monitor Audio setup,
sounds pretty good tbh, though not as solid as the Rotel CD player,
but then, a £400 cd player with good interconnects should sound better
than anything compressed over wifi connected with a cheap mini-jack to
RCA cable :)

I do have plenty of drop outs though, and I'm not sure if they're disk
related or network related. I've got a WRT54G, and the signal on my
powerbook is always full in the living room, but now and then it
looses it, and I can see itunes skipping through a track with no
audio. I have to stop the track, wait a bit then start a new one and
hey presto it's all ok again, anyone else noticed the same?

I would be interested to try it from the optical outs, but would need
to invest in a DAC to do that, off I goes to Richer sounds :)

cheers,

jb
